DPS Go Green Challenge News from the Schools!
DIA for Girls Serves Boo Smoothies to School
The Go Green team at Detroit International Academy for Girls participated in face painting and made Boo Smoothies with healthy ingredients. The celebration featured lava lamps, witch puppets and ice cream made in plastic bags. Kindergarten through fourth grade girls came through the halls and room of Ms.Carol Martin, the lead Sustainability Coordinator for the DIA Green Panthers. The young ladies used spinach, apple juice, mixed berries, and vanilla yogurt for the Booooolicious! treats. The team is also planning a recycled wear fashion show!
Noble’s Recycled Haunted Houses
For Halloween at Noble Elementary-Middle school, each student made a haunted house out of recycled materials and other Halloween decorations they had at home. The houses were displayed around the school. Photos of some of the haunted houses are attached.
