During the month of February, our green team has maneuvered through a couple of different activities. To start we got a chance to see our Americorps volunteer, Ms. Peterson’s, daughter come in and act out a one-person play that dealt with black history month. They play was from the perspective of the person who gave Rosa Parks change to get on the bus. She also shared with us some poetry she had written dealing with bullying. We also had a chance to start a healthy eating project, where we made smoothies using fruit, and other nutritional drinks, and healthy items. This was a taste testing experience before we complete or healthy food sampling stand. Our power down team also got a chance to “power it down” during the winter break they proceeded through with their usual procedures. We are working hard to create posters for our larger Battle of the Classes recycling project. We’ve been able to continue progressing in all aspects, and hopefully, comes together. We’ll be back next month with an updated blog of March.
