Lots of exciting things are happening across the District to celebrate Earth Week! We’ll feature a few schools and their activities in an email digest and on our blog each day. If you and your students would like to be featured for your Earth Week activities, please let us know by filling out this survey:
Today’s activities include:
Sampson-Webber Leadership Academy: the Sampson-Webber “Recyclers” are doing just that! The Green Team is taking DPS Leadership on a tour of their school and showing them how they conduct recycling patrols and help everyone in their school understand what it means to Go Green!
Maybury Elementary: the students at Maybury are starting the Rainbow Plates Challenge today in the hopes of getting all of their colors in by the end of the week!
Durfee Elementary-Middle School: the “Go Durfee!” 7th grade students at Durfee Elementary-Middle School have made posters for Earth Week that correspond with each day’s theme! They will be placing the posters around the school to encourage more participation in Earth Week celebrations!
Carver STEM Academy: the “Green Giants and Little Sprouts” at Carver are beginning the Rainbow Plates Challenge today in the hopes of getting all of their colors in by the end of the week!
Davison Elementary-Middle School: the Davison “Green Dragons” are on their second day of making their Rainbow Salad Felt bowl. Students cut out and assemble felt salad bowls while learning about the nutrients each food has to offer!
Keep up the good work, teams! Stay tuned for more updates tomorrow!
