Tuesday June 7th, 2016 we hosted our Final High School Symposium for the schools participating in the High School portion of the DPS Go Green Challenge. Each High School was given an initial budget at the beginning of the school year to conduct a capstone project to make their schools, homes or communities more sustainable. These projects included various things from creating a living wall, Micro-bead testing, Recycling, and many more.
At the Symposium each high school team presented their projects and the results of their projects to the other high school teams and guest panelists from different career fields including teachers, architects, university administrators, and non-profit leaders. Their fellow students and panelists gave each team feedback on their project and looked at ways to continuously grow their project in following years of the program.
We thank all the schools, teachers, students, and panelists that were involved in the High School portion of the DPS Go Green Challenge and the various High School Symposiums throughout the year. We look forward to working with these future Green Leaders in the years to come!
