DPSCD High School Kickoff Symposium This Thursday!

The High School Kick Off Symposium has been rescheduled for this Thursday, November 3, 2016!
The event will be held at Detroit Collegiate Preparatory Academy at Northwestern(2200 W Grand Blvd, Detroit, MI 48208) from 11am-1pm. As a reminder, please have your students prepare permission slips and field trip forms in advance of the event. Busses and food will be provided!
The High School Kickoff Symposium will convene students from across DPSCD and community organizations to discuss important issues of sustainability in Detroit. Panelists from organizations such as The Sierra Club, Zero Waste Detroit, EcoWorks and Eastern Market will share the challenges their organizations hope to address with their work and pose challenges to students. The students will have the opportunity to collaborate with each other to come up with possible solutions to these issues and pitch those ideas back to the panelists. We hope this serves as a way for students to connect their capstone projects to a bigger environmental movement taking place in the city AND contribute suggestions to the organizations doing green work!
