The Green Team at the Frederick Douglass Academy for Young Men presented their project, titled “Beautification Bench” for the capstone project on December 21st.
The Green Team plans to construct a bench out of recycled materials to put at the bus stop near the school. The students noticed that people waiting for the bus have nowhere to sit and nothing to shelter them from the cold. The team plans to construct a bench and an enclosure to help those waiting for the bus stay safe and warm!
The Green Team, led by School Coordinator Mala Mirchandani, plans to collect recyclables at the school and within surrounding neighborhoods, to help beautify their community as well!
