The Green Team at Sampson-Webber came up with raps to teach their fellow students about gardening and nutrition!
The team, led by Sustainability Coordinator Ms. Lashon Clay, did a great job coming up with rhymes and presenting their work to the class!

The Green Team at Nichols Elementary Learns About Composting!
The Nichols Elementary Green Team learned about composting last week!
The green team, led by Sustainability Coordinator Ms. Sonya Brown, learned about the benefits of composting and how to properly layer compost.
They also got to enjoy their edible green and brown layered compost–oreos, green frosting, cocoa pebbles green sprinkles and gummy worms. Yum!

The Green Team at the Detroit Lions Academy Has Soul!
On Monday May 22nd, the Detroit Lions Academy Green Team took a field trip to Detroit Vegan Soul in West Village!
The Green Team, led by Sustainability Coordinator Ms. Joann Brown, got to experience a cooking demo, taste tests of their food, and information about why the owners, Kirsten and Erika, believe that going vegan, or at least reducing dairy and meat products is a lifestyle they should promote!

The Green Team at Maybury made bird feeders out of pine cones!
The team, led by Sustainability Coordinator Ms. Kelly Davis, learned about different kinds of birds and used pine cones they picked up around the school to make the feeders!
